Django People Are Fun
Social events have always been popular at DjangoCon. Last year both the Irish Bar evening and the Architectural River Trip were sell-out successes. Since this year's conference is in geek-friendly Portland we plan to get you in the DjangoCon mood with events starting August 30, the Saturday before the conference begins.
We also plan, in partnership with our sponsors, to offer additional events in the evenings.
We will add more information as individual events are confirmed. At present we are planning the activities listed below. Don't forget to let us know if you think there are other events that would be popular with Django enthusiasts. This is Portland. Weird things happen all the time.
Columbia River Gorge Tour (and Optional Walk)
Some of the USA's most spectacular scenery unfolds beneath you as you travel along the Columbia River Gorge to Multnomah Falls. Then optionally take the walk up to the top of the Falls, or stick with the bus and meet up with the walkers later.
Portland Pub Crawl
Get to know some of Portland's many drinking establishments and connect with your fellow conference-goers at the same time. But should it be the Haunted Pub Crawl, the Luck of the Irish Pub Crawl or a ride on one of Portland's famous Brewcycles? We'll decide, and let you know.

On Sunday afternoon conference sponsors and open source projects get the chance to present their recent work and attempt to recruit you as an employee and/or contributor
